Nathalie Paillarse
Nathalie Paillarse is Grace Leo’s latest guest.
She designs products with subtle fragrances: candles with soft scents, fragrances for the home, and she has her own bath & bodycare range. The founder of the now famous Ex Voto Paris brand has everyone across the world in agreement about the high quality of the products, the impeccably refined restraint of the packaging, the inspiration… and since a few years luxury hotels make her products the centrepiece of their rooms. In short they represent real class, great chic and a certain reserved elegance.

Last trip, last hotel, last memorable travel experience or anecdote?
The Sereno, on Saint Barth’s, a magical place designed by Christian Liaigre – one of my favourite architects.
What makes or breaks a hotel?
The brand of cosmetics in the bathroom – it’s important that the hotel has thought of well chosen scented products.
Your ultimate definition of luxury?
Being amazed by the attention to small detail, being moved by the architecture of the place and the imagination which has bought it to life.
A guilty indulgence?
Weakness for sweet things – I’m always thinking about the profiteroles at Hotel Le Bristol’s restaurant 114 in Paris!
A scent which takes your breath away?
The Amber fragrance by Ex Voto Paris which is both sensual and elegant. And the ‘Ginger’ scent as well: fresh and intriguing. So many favourite perfumes…
A back handed compliment?
None – compliments are always nice.

A lover’s discourse: Fragments – Roland Barthes, a book about love which I’m very fond of.
Favourite word or expression?
Minimalismus.
A question you hope we won’t ask?
This one!
An addiction?
Pretty bags.
Your last rant?
The inelegance of 15cm heels that go higher and higher with platforms – it’s just madness!
Last thing you fell in love with?
Armani Hotels & Resorts in Dubai and Milan – the elegance of Giorgio Armani and the aesthetics of his perfect world, beautiful and timeless.
Your last helping hand?
I’ll keep that a secret…
Favorite music at the moment?
Boa Sorte (Good Luck) ) Vanessa da Mata & Ben Harper. Ben Harper’s voice is to die for, just sublime.
