Jules is in the mood for travelling. He is a real connoisseur of accessories, particularly those custom-made ones which always feel that extra bit special, and he does get a little bit carried away sometimes. Jules wants this chic but also nomadic spirit to leave its mark on the vintage bedrooms in his hotel. The result – marvelous – hung on the vintage style tiles in the bathroom, looking slightly bohemian but just as elegant as if it were in a large cosmopolitan ancestral home, the Vanity made from leather is simply a divine surprise! Jules’ guests fall under the beguiling charm of such a unique piece. Jules commissioned this luxury designer accessory from Tristain Auer and his interior design company IZEU, made by a French leather goods producer in a limited series. The Vanity, exclusive as it is, with its chrome buckles and rivets that sublimate the dark leather, has a round edged mirror and contains charming cosmetics. In short, its precious beauty seduced Jules so much that he has made a few more pieces. Those in love with the Vanity (because that is the feeling that it inspires in some people) can even buy it at Jules along with many other ‘made in Jules’ accessories: the famous lips, also the lips box, the iPhone case, or sunglasses case in leather… Chic explorers, will brave the rush, and Jules will know just how to welcome them, with all his relaxed elegance which has become his trademark !

For some unknown reason, as soon as we see a hanging chair, swinging in front of our eyes,
we rush to it !
This levitating ball feels like it protects us, surrounds us, much like being in a cocoon.

We love to sit there listening to meditating, relaxing, reading or even surfing the web on our iPads – a true pleasure!

The hanging chair takes many forms and all sorts of materials.

There’s the chrysalis or arachnid style in steel, or the fishing net for the more imaginative people out there, a hippy-bohemian style in rattan or with flashy colours for the joyful,
an avant-garde transparent ball, a true icon of the 60s remade – today all these styles are available!

For outside of the house, we love the latest creation by Dedon, a true nest hanging in the garden or a panoramic terrace – a magical place to share with everyone!

And to initiate children to this from a young age, go take a look at the small suspended cradle from Bozzolo – your little ones will be in heaven…

Who doesn’t own a map of the world in their home? You know, a copy of planet Earth, showing all the continents in different colours, surrounded by vast blue oceans. Usually, once it is up on the wall, we tend to forget about it. It becomes invisible because it is just too “predictable”!
It is about time somebody invented a map we could interact with! Well, someone has: the Scratch Map, a map where you can show everybody all the places you have been, simply by scratching them off with a coin. Get your hands on a Scratch Map via Fleux’s website. An original way of showing off your globe-trotting adventures…

The iPhone. A marvelous electronic innovation. You can take pictures with it, play Angry Birds,
surf the web, flash codes, and even make the odd phone call… What makes it even more marvelous? Gadgetifying it (yes, I assure you, it’s a word). Gadgetifying can be summed up as the art of tuning
mobile phones (but a classy way of doing it). How does one gadgetify? It’s quite simple…

1. Get yourself fish-eye, macro and telephoto lenses and make your pictures round shaped, wide angled or highly zoomed. Forget your Fish Eye, Lomo and state of the art reflex camera. Now, all you will ever need is a gadgetified iPhone!
2. Tired of using your white Apple earphones? Why not surprise your entourage by donning a Moshi Moshi* receiver that can be directly plugged into your iPhone!
3. For a tropical getaway, a portable fan is always a must. Enter… the iFan! Simply plug the device into your iPhone and wave the heat away.

What can I say? In spite of its name, the iPhone is more than just a telephone with a myriad of applications. Now, it is a gadget designed for all round use, more playful and functional.

This one little indulgence won’t make you scream in despair while on your scale.
It’s a pleasure for the eyes only… make a necklace… a ring…a key-ring… do whatever you want with it!
Let yourself go with a really simple and indulgent creation. All you need is an oven, fimo clay, and some nice muffin pans.
A nice activity for a sunday afternoon with the kids.

Who hasn’t dreamt of no longer having nightmares?

Our Native American friends have found the solution…

The Dream Catcher
According to American-Indian beliefs, a dream catcher prevents bad dreams
from invading its owner’s sleep.
It is so effective, they say, that it retains sleep’s beautiful images whilst trapping bad ones
in its web before they burn at first light.
Dreams provide us with balance and stability.

Just what the beautiful Alice SurleGateau need’s to get her going
…And voilà! A small gift just for you: her tricks of the trade, right here!

Now it’s your turn, be like Grace Leo is for her hotels… Customise, reinvent, revisit… and create your own Dream Catcher… Who better to chase down your bad dreams than you?!

So go ahead and dream and make others dream…

This weaving technique widely used in Indonesia, Southern and Central America is a dyeing method traditionally with a dark coloured base and diamond swirled patterns of contrasting colours.
Of course, this description is simple and in no way reflects the exquisite beauty of the work…but you get the gist.

The obsession began when the creators of European fabric brands evolved Ikat by adding a twist;
choosing a light base with a unique colour pattern (Jacquard fabric by Dedar, the ‘ikat collection’ by Madeline Weinbrib, ‘Colombo’ at Elitis…). I dreamt of carpets, sofa cushions, headboards..and then…
Ikat weaves its way into fashion. A bohemian-style frenzy of belts, playsuits, harem pants, crochet jackets.

Admit it. You too purchased a piece, tried mixing it conservatively but still ended up looking like a Navajo. A Navajo out of context even when accessorized with the classic black Louboutins does not stick to the laws of the urban jungle.

Moral of the story: unstitch the cursed seams of my unflattering Ikat trousers and voila! A perfect cover for a cushion in my apartment. Totally ethno-chic, I am standing by the DIY mantra, and doing a great deed by recycling.
An instant feel good…right?
